Is Waymo the Future of Transportation?

So, as of my news of the day that I brought to class, recently my family and I took a trip to San Francisco to visit my sister and her boyfriend, who recently moved there. On my first day in the city, there were many ways to get around town. There are big companies that we all know, such as Lyft and Uber, but the new one is Waymo. Waymo is the next step in pick-up transportation for the general public.  Some background on Waymo, it is an independent driving technology company, that was originally a project within Google. In 2016 it became Waymo. This company develops and deploys independent autonomous cars and uses a combination of AI, sensors, cameras, and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technology to navigate roads without a human touch. So what is so special about the Waymo and why do people trust it to take them from place to place? Well with Waymo's high-end technology, it will only get more helpful and people will trust it. The other thing Waymo has a lot of advance...

Scavenging the Internet

Recently for an in-class assignment, we were asked with a partner and a handout to go with it to do an internet scavenger hunt. At first, I didn't know what to expect in a sense but I think that is a good thing because I expect the unexpected. We had a worksheet handed to us and had until 10:45am to find as many things on that worksheet as we could. Me and my partner split up the question in the second half but we did do some of the questions together.  Although, some of the questions that we were asked to look up, first I was thinking how in the world am I going to find this on the internet? Does that exist? is that even a thing? To answer your question yes it is and I was quite surprised that all these kinds of things are around on the Internet. Now what did I think of the scavenger hunt overall? the answer to that question would have to be I found it very interesting and informative to do this. It helps all of us in this world to understand the internet is so powerful and ...

What in the Computer Communication

In this blog post, I will get serious about talking about computers and how they communicate with one another. Like people, everyone has to talk back to make sure they reciprocate and understand the conversation they are having with another person. Computers have to make sure they are getting files that another computer system sent to them and just keep that going if they are getting the idea and the protocol.   What is a protocol? That answer in computer terms would be in the context of computer networking is a set of standardized rules that determine how data is formatted, transmitted, and processed during communication between devices on a network, such as the Internet. These rules are in place, this make sure computers can exchange information smoothly, regardless of differences in their internal architectures, operating systems, or hardware. Another thing with protocol, it defines how devices identify each other, start and manage communication, and detect or correct mist...

What is A.I Up To

In this world whether we like it or not everything is starting to be turned into a playground for technological companies and new advancements to make life living a little easier. Whether it is another Tesla Car being introduced to the world, robots being unveiled, or a new phone to the market consumers like us make it our new obsession because of all the hot new features. Whatever it is all the companies will make sure it has some aspect of it including Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI is the new thing that all companies are introducing into their gadgets to get us as consumers' attention for us to buy it. Don't get me wrong a lot of people are on the artificial intelligence saying this is great it is going to benefit us in the long term.  A lot of the famous technology CEOs have other things on their minds about this including the concerns. According to the presentation, Bill Gates " I am in the camp that is concerned about super intelligence," Gates said in an answ...

How the Internet has Shaped Us

'The Machine is Us/ing US' . This video is thoughtfully made by Michael Wesch . This video describes the start of the internet. I liked how it starts with paper and the person in the video writes down his thoughts. If he didn't like it he would just erase it and write something different but if he didn't like that new thought either he erased it again. It then switched to him typing on a computer, and you can backspace as much as you can to get your point across because the backspace doesn't go away on a computer. The video then goes into the evolution of the web and its impact on society, communication, and knowledge of the internet clearly, it especially dives into Web 2.0, which has transformed from being a tool for reading static pages to a very interactive platform where users can create, share, and modify content this already there for everyone to see. The video especially highlights the flow of digital text, linking, tagging, and collaboration, demonst...
